Yvonne is a 4th-year undergraduate student at Georgia State University majoring in neuroscience. She is working under Dr. Alexandra Castillo-Ruiz on a project focused on the microbiota’s influence on the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus and its structure. This research helps us understand the short and long term effects of the microbiota on brain development. After graduation, she will continue pursuing a career in neuroscience research and go to graduate school. Yvonne enjoys playing cozy games and trying new restaurants with friends. She also spends her free time reading, roller skating, and drawing.
